Cleaning your Fleshlight is mandatory. Anything that comes in contact with bodily fluids needs to be maintained. Unfortunately, it’s rarely as simple as a little water. Fleshlights are composed of Superskin, which is the material that gives them realism. Superskin is amazing but can be tricky to clean.
Step by Step Cleaning
You’ve just had a fulfilling session with your Fleshlight, now what? Do you toss it under the bed and go to sleep. NO! You stop what you’re doing and follow these steps.
- Remove the sleeve from the hard plastic outer shell.
- Run warm water through the sleeve.
- After a minute, wring out your sleeve to remove any excess water.
- If you have a microfiber cloth, you can wipe it down. (Optional)
- Place in a well-ventilated area or in front of a fan.
- Apply renewing powder of cornstarch. (Optional)
After cleaning, you may notice your sleeve no longer feels as soft. It should bounce back to feeling new after drying. If not, use some renewing powder or cornstarch.
If you Fleshlight is getting yucky, and water isn’t doing the trick go with a tiny bit of soap. Make sure you rinse thoroughly.
You don’t have to clean the moment after you climax. But you should clean it within an hour if possible.
Fleshlight does have their own brand cleaner. It’s convenient and works well as far as cleaning is concerned. However, the active ingredient in the cleaner is triclosan. Triclosan is an anti-bacterial found in many hand sanitizers and some body washes.
The Federal Drug Administration hasn’t determined precisely if triclosan can cause adverse health effects. However, considering it may come in contact with your penis, you should probably be aware.
The renewing powder is what keeps your Fleshlight feeling brand new. When washed the, just like our skin, the Superskin will lose some of its natural oils. To counteract this you can use renewing powder.
Fleshlight has its own powder that costs around $7.00 USD. However, the powder is bassicly just cornstarch. You can buy that from the supermarket for much cheaper or you may already have some in pantry. I do suggest using cornstarch or renewing powder once every four or five uses. It won’t hurt to apply it more or less.
What Happens if You Don’t Clean Your Fleshlight?
If you don’t clean your Fleshlight regularly the first thing you will notice is a smell. The smell is due to a culmination of sweat, dead skin cells, and bodily fluids. On a microscopic level, the material will begin to degrade from being in constant contact with bacterial growth. Eventually, a mold may develop. Once mold sets in your Fleshlight is probably done for. You can try to use isopropyl alcohol which may kill the mold. However, it’s better, cheaper, and easier never to give mold the opportunity to grow.
It’s not a pretty job, but cleanliness is essential.
Keep your Fleshlight clean, keep your junk clean. Those are two rules to live by. If you do those two things, you won’t have a problem. Pick up some cornstarch or renewing powder to keep your Fleshlight feeling brand new.
