All That Heaven Allows
Like a friendless photophobic loser I’ll be spending the next few weeks alone in cinemas around London, so expect more arcane movie references than usual. I might even pretentiously quote Douglas Sirk– “there is a wonderful expression: seeing through a glass darkly. Everything, even life, is inevitably removed from you. You can’t reach, or touch, the real. You just see reflections,”– because Seven Saturdays‘ shamelessly sentimental EP, The Snowflakes That Hit Us Became Our Stars plays out like a sumptuous Sirk melodrama- a slowburn, Technicolor heartbreaker that ripples with fatalism. Here are two exclusive, extended versions of songs from the EP.
