Beaters – White Hate
The video for Beaters‘ mutant garage gouger White Hate suggests frontman Jeremy Rojas is no stranger to the old rough and tumble (and blindfolds and whips and terrifying dudes in red dresses who stare at you on dark desert roads). The answers he gave to our 321 questions also suggest a preoccupation with the weirder things in life (and conspiracies). If you’re having a party you should invite him and his awesome band. By the looks of this they are really good at parties.

1. “There are quite a few interesting journalist accounts of during the 1991 Gulf War, hundreds of thousands of Iraqi troops spontaneously surrendered without even attempting to fight. This was supposedly due to the employment, by our government, of ELF(extreme low frequency) technologies. Human brains are like liquid crystal in response to these kinds of frequencies.”
2. “On the back of the U.S. one dollar bill, just below the pyramid that has the All-Seeing Eye above it, you will find… ‘Novus Ordo Seclorum’ which translated means, ‘New World Order’.”
3. “The father of our California governor was part of Hitler’s infamous SA brown shirts. Old Arnie also said in a 1977 interview with ABC that he deeply admired Hitler.”
1. “One of my favorite songs is On Our Honeymoon by The Wake. It is a franticly careening, cavorting, slice of radiant post-punk. The aural beauty of this song is sharply contrasted by the dark and hopeless divulgement of a new marriage that is realized to be a ruinous waste.”

2. “Hamburger Lady by Throbbing Gristle is another tune that is very dear to my heart. This song is about a woman who has been burnt from the waist up spending the rest of her unbearable existence in a terminal burns unit in Portland, Oregon. Despite the advancements of modern medicine and the qualified physicians, she is doomed to spend the rest of her days immobilized in a hospital bed, eating her life through tubes inserted into alternating parts of her body. Like a pile of half cooked ground beef with only the smallest flicker of life flitting about inside. The soundscape that is evoked is ominous and foreboding. I can close my eyes and imagine myself in some tortuous, half-conscious,drugged up delirium, desperately wishing for an end but getting only a perpetuation of hell.”

1. “If i had a wish to make, i would wish for the ability to multiply myself. I would then start an army of Jeremys and promptly take over the planet.”
