321 : Wild Nothing

We have a lot to thank Wild Nothing for. This song from his beautiful debut album reminds us of Tangerine Dream which in turn made us think about trains and 80s Rebecca De Mornay and we have continued to do that for most of the morning. Then he picked one of our favourite Isley Brothers’ songs for 321 so we have listened to it 300 times (whilst thinking about trains etc), making today pretty spectacular so far and it’s only lunchtime.

“I don’t really have a good or personal reason for why I like these songs. I just do. That kind of songwriting seems so natural. It’s almost formulaic in a way, because you just had all these people churning out R&B hits. But they almost all rule. So I can’t really knock them for being similar most of the time.”
