321 : Pink Priest

If Pink Priest had known about the field in Ipswich (past the bottom shops, by the brook) where kids go to gulp down cheap cider and learn about regret, then this song might’ve been a series of grunts called Field Of Awkward Fumbles. Thankfully it’s not. It’s blissful. If you shut your eyes while it’s on, you might see a rainbow. Next, Mr Priest talks blood, Leatherface and Nantucket.

“The smallest city in Arkansas, according to census, is Gilbert. I want to visit there.”
WCB: “Mountain – Nantucket Sleighride. As a kid, I found this double live Mountain LP my mom had, and I used to jam this all the time. It’s just beautifully epic.”

“Kria Brekkan – Solush. I had heard this song a few times in the past, but i saw a youtube video of a longer version called Ravine and rediscovered it. Fell in love with it. So haunting and gorgeous… There’s and innocence and a real heaviness to the track.”

WCB: “I wish Mitchell Lee Hedberg was still alive, and that he was my neighbor.”
Pink Priest’s amazing tape, Gulls Diving Into the Ocean is out now on Night People.
