Fergus & Geronimo are from Denton, Texas, a place with more fuzzy beards and ramshackle rock bands per capita than anywhere else on earth, and yet they still manage to stand out. The duo have a single out soon on the awesome (and inspiring) Transparent. We spoke to the band’s Andrew Savage and Jason Kelly about three two one things.

F&G: “1. Bono’s favorite food is cereal.
“2. Bono owns the world’s only 41 GB iPod.
“3. Bono’s glasses have built in Bluetooth.”
Jason: “Van Morrison‘s Moon Dance. I heard this song for the first time when I was nine years old, my dad would blast it while he was cleaning the house. Unfortunately my dad passed away not long after I heard the song for the first time. I never knew what the song was or who wrote it but I had the melody in my head. It wasn’t until two years ago that I heard the song in a friends car that I instantly realized what it was. The feeling of finally finding that song was incredible and it will probably be one of the most significant songs to me for the rest of my life.
“Reigning Sound’s Stick Up For Me. I have been obsessed with this band since the first moment I heard them. I think it would be a challenge for Greg Cartwright to write a bad song. This is one of the many instant classics from their latest album Love and Curses. The guitars come blasting in, by the time you hear Greg’s raspy voice the song is in your face full of energy and attitude. Amazing. There’s not much more I want to say other than go listen to it if you haven’t already. ”
F&G: “We wish we could have seen the Ramones in 1979.”
