Dan Deacon‘s new album, Bromst, is as inventive and madcap as anything he’s done, but it’s also filled with regret, sadness and hope. “It’s about ghosts and cycles and growing older,” he told us. After the jump he provides some surprising and revealing answers to our three little questions.
Dan Deacon – Get Older [mp3] [Buy]
Dan Deacon: “1. 9/11 and 7/7 were false flag operations perpetrated by the governments of the countries that the attacks took place in.
“2. The Monsanto Food Corporation is currently trying to patent the existence of pigs as their intellectual property. So that they own all of pigs. They currently already own the intellectual property of corn, rice, wheat, soy and most other grains.
“3. There is enough evidence to say that the major food suppliers, the major governmental political and monetary powers in the world are deliberately setting up society for a massive depression. A massive uproar that will incite a new world order through chaos.”
DD: “Neil Young’s Out For The Weekend. It’s a really powerful song. You can feel the emotion in it from when it starts and the vocals really reinforce that idea. It’s just really beautiful.

“Future Island’s Little Dreamer. It captures that sincere sound of when you hear an R&B singer from the fifties or sixties singing directly to someone they love. You know when couples have their song? I feel like this is the song me and Stephanie have.”
DD: “Collective consciousness.”
Dan Deacon’s new album Bromst is out soon.
