321 : The Samps

We’ve been a bit slack recently, even more so than usual. The Samps know how rubbish we are. Led by Cole, guitarist with Haunted Graffiti , they make epileptic aqua-beats, tracks that are swashbuckling dumb fun. They answered our 321 questions ages ago, and we’re only just putting up their amazing answers now. Sorry, Samps. After the jump Cole ruminates on Lenny Bias and introduces us to the awesome Freddy K.

3 FACTS 4 FREDDY FUN FACTS
Cole: “1. Lenny Bias was the Boston Celtics # 1 pick in 1986 or 87. He signed a $10 million sneaker contract with Reebok and overdosed and died on coke. All within 3 days never played an NBA game …Celtics never won again until 2007. He was wanting to party with the ghetto boys one more time before he took off to a life of fame and riches .. let them know he loved them and didn’t think he was better than them , he just got a little too high …so it was a short hello and a quick goodbye.
“2. Life gets in the way of success…whatever that is… I guess to croak with a relatively clean conscience is somewhat successful.
“3. I was mostly just a wannabe anti-nuke freedom fighter ex dust head weed dealer tryin’ to dodge the law that crashed and burned at the end on snow and whiskey.
“4. I’m in cyber limbo with my web site for at least a month… terminator type battles with an abandoned domain company bein run by a computer…….not a human to be found…devil worshippin Bastrds from hell.”
Cole: “1. The Kids Were Tough As Nails, Freddy K & The Breeze . We love it because it’s the rawest song ever recorded in 1988, which incidentally is the year Cole was born.

C: “2. Old Hippies, Freddy K & The Breeze. Because it’s the second rawest song ever recorded in 1988.”
C: “We wish that someday Freddy K becomes the fourth Samp, or that we become The Breeze.”
