Royal Mumble Mumblecore. The first significant movement in US cinema for a decade OR a group of young filmmakers who cast each other in sort-of-funny, lo-fi movies that usually involve them all having sex with each other? Probably the latter! And more power to them. At the London Film Festival Hannah Takes The Stairs director Joe Swanberg told us he expects the movie world to become more like music with local, national and international scenes, stars and genres. Mumblecore, he said, was just the first example of this democratization. This is the trailer for his new web series, Butterknife that starts soon over on Spout.
